Microsoft Wants To Do Your Job

OK. Now that we have woken you up on Monday morning, maybe the news is not that dramatic after all. In a change from the way Microsoft used to operate, the company wants to collaborate with agencies and marketers to create an advertising network that could rival Google’s. Speaking at Imagine 07, Steve Balmer Chief Executive Microsoft, “Over time, all ad money will go through a digital ad platform, ”Mr. Ballmer told a gathering of European ad agencies and clients. “All media goes digital; all advertising goes digital.” He hopes that advertising would become 25 percent of the company’s business within a few years.
