Declare Financial Independence With ING
In wake of the current financial meltdown, ING has taken another route to help Americans handle the crisis – by signing a declaration. Called The Declaration of Financial Independence, this ten-point plan promises that people who live by it will be in control of their financial lives. On a website aptly called We The Savers, ING lists simple habits that America needs to follow more strictly now than ever before; like spending lesser than they earn, keeping money at places where it has a chance of growing and knowing the cost of borrowing. The website even has a count of the signatures accumulated to date, with a distribution of the numbers over all the 50 states shown in the map. The question is, besides genuine concern over the current situation, is ING also trying to convey the bank’s own credibility to their customers?
