KickStart brings in new thinking into the space of helping the poorest of the poor fend for themselves. The organization, built on the principle that handouts, in the form of aid will not solve poverty is helping rural Africa find its feet with cheap and simple ideas. Their five step approach to innovation and sustainability is already impacting the lives of millions of the world’s poor. Apparently ideas enabled by KickStart are already responsible for 5% of Kenya’s GDP. The innovation – a simple human operated Super Moneymaker Pump that costs about $17.
