TrendWatching blog goes back to the concept of Brand Butlers they had introduced a few years ago. For the record, a butler, as trend watching puts it, is an omnipresent service that would be a mix of (discreetly) being there when customers want you to be there, and pleasantly surprising them with your presence when they least expect it. Brand Butlers can be both online or offline. Many companies are finding the new generation of mobile apps with their ubiquitous presence as perfect Brand Butlers.
